Hrvatske šume aims to be the leading Commercial company for forest management in the region, which will work on raising public awareness about the forests as the national wealth of Croatia and promote the principles of sustainable development.
Božićno drvce jedno je od najpoznatijih tradicija koja se povezuje s proslavom nadolazećih blagdana. Uobičajeno je to zimzeleno drvo koje se postavlja u dom ili na otvorenom prostoru.
Hrvatske šume u nekim od svojih rasadnika uzgajaju i božićna drvca, a na tržištu će se i ove godine naći nekoliko vrsta - smreka, obična jela, pančićeva omorika i srebrna smreka. Cijene će se kretati od 50 kuna za običnu smreku visine oko 70 do 80 cm, a s visinom drvca i ovisno o vrsti mijenja se i cijena. U ponudi će se naći i živa drvca u posudama, koja su uz odgovarajuću njegu trajna.
Sva drvca na tržištu moraju imati i markice koje izdaju Hrvatske šume. Riječ je o deklaracijama na kojima piše naziv proizvođača, mjesta proizvodnje i latinski naziv drvca. Zelenim markicama označavaju se domaća drvca, a crvenim markicama uvezena drvca.
Božićna drvca u ponudi Hrvatskih šuma uzgajaju se u za to specijaliziranim rasadnicima. Jedno drvce prosječno se uzgaja 10 godina, a svake godine se sade nova koja zamjenjuju prodana.
